Wonderful
Grand old hotel with original features and character. Excellent location, close to the station and walking distance of tourist sites. Clean and spacious.
All good but would be better with a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities in bedrooms.

What was the highlight of Hotel Royal Palace
Great city and the hotel had a great location. We got everything from the short stay that we wanted.
Breakfast was good as was the room but the best thing about it was the location. We had a rail trip to se Etna and it was within 100m of the station. It was also close to the historic centre and handy for the tram. Car parking was secure.
Staff seemed to be doing multiple jobs resulting in long waits to be served at the bar.

Handy for an overnight stay for trains and ferries
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel location is perfect for the train and ferries The chap running the restaurant is one of the rudest men however I forgave his rudeness when I saw the amazing breakfast they serve here. The room was comfortable, good bed linen, I lost power during a storm and the lights were fixed as soon as I reported it.
The name of the hotel suggests something a little old fashioned but glamorous, it isn't. There is no restaurant other than for breakfast which is really really good, but a dinner service would be better. There appear to be conferences sales events, time share maybe going on and a lot of young men living at the hotel, nothing wrong with that but it is not an ideal hotel for a vacation.
